BXL x LDN Interplay III - Jazz Middleheim
BXL x LDN Interplay III brings together young musicians from Brussels and London in a shared process of creation, exchange, and performance. Developed in collaboration with Tomorrow’s Warriors, the project connects two cities whose jazz scenes are shaped by migration, diversity, and a strong sense of community. The ensemble brings together Alice Sinephro, Lorenzo Ola Kobina, and Simon Mouctar de Rover from Brussels, alongside Christ-Stéphane Boizi, Lauren Breen, and Donovan Haffner from London. Each brings a distinct musical language, shaped by jazz, diaspora traditions, and contemporary influences.
Guided by pianist Wajdi Riahi, the group works through co-creation and attentive listening. Improvisation and composition unfold side by side, allowing the music to develop in real time rather than follow a fixed form. Live, BXL x LDN Interplay III reflects the energy of two interconnected scenes. The music remains open and in motion, offering a glimpse into how a new generation is shaping the future of jazz.
